I am wondering if when I put on the weather cover on top and the hole goes over the chimney if the rubber will be burned off as the chimney heats up as this doesn’t have a metal ring like the chimney velcro opening does.

Secondly I’m wondering about the hooks that are at the top of the chimney and what they might be used for - there are three of them aimed downward and could just not be needed for anything but just wanted to ask.
