Thermometer Question
Is there a certain calibration device people are using for thermometer that came with the sweat tent? Never heard of manually adjusting one and there’s 0 info on the website or even in the instructions other than an approved device.

I had to travel and it rained once while I was gone. The inside of the tent is wet and many of the sauna rocks now have rust on them. Anyone else experience this?

Saunas and training/exercise
Howdy all!
I've recently started to up my cycling training and average around 140miles a week, and as part of that I have been more conscious of my overall fitness and health. Ensuring that my training is productive and beneficial.
A bit part I haven't explored much is post workout recovery. Outside of nutritional intake and some stretching, I haven't done much else. I've been thinking about saunas and cold plunge and the benefits to the body. My biggest issue is that I don't love sitting in heat, or heat + humidity.
I'd love to know of other folks around here that have increased their workout activities and how saunas have helped you with recovery and overall benefit to training. And secondly, how to get used to sitting in something warm for a good amount of time?

Inside out
My tent arrived inside out. My husband was able to reverse engineer one of the walls so it’s stable but I don’t think It will be very ”portable” now. Any ideas?

new sweat tent
I love my sweat tent! I have a spot on the water for cold plunge and I wanted to put in a sauna. My original plan was to build one. The cost just seemed to go higher and higher. The materials alone were going to be 10K +. I found the sweat tent on line, built a modest wooden platform for it in a day and was sweating away the next!
I am in the process of starting a club of sorts in order to share the sauna and ocean cold plunge space.. find me at TheBPlace.club A simple comment on the blog is much appreciated. Thanks, Stephen / Boston

Cold plunge setup ideas?
After months of lurking the community and researching saunas I finally ordered my SweatTent! I am really excited to get it set up in my backyard and have it easily accessible for regular use.
I would love to pair it with a cold plunge, does any one have suggestions for a cheap and easy cold plunge setup?

My Sauna Routine
I like to use the sauna at least 5x per week in the evening after my lifting sessions or Jiu Jitsu training. On the weekends it’s nice to use in the mornings.

Tips & Tricks for Using the SweatTent
After using my sauna for a while, I wanted to share some tips & tricks. I love using it after a good lifting session, a run, or training jiu jitsu. I find that the cardiovascular benefits compound. I feel a big difference in my endurance and stamina. I also notice that I recover from my workouts quicker and I sleep better. I feel less stressed throughout the day. I try to stay in for at least 20-30 min take a break and hop in for another 20-30 minutes. I did have to work myself up to that time so start slow and don’t force yourself.

My Biggest Wellness Challenges
My biggest challenge at the moment has been nutrition. I love food, especially variety. But most of the recipes or guides I see online are just not appealing to me at all. And I don't know if I can or want to do meal prepping, but do see the benefit from it.
I don't think I eat particularly poorly, but I have no idea whether my overall nutrition matches my (not too strenuous) workout routine or not.
Would love to know what your typical nutritional plan is? Do you wing it? Meal prep? Stick to a guide?

My Sauna Routine
We love to fire up our sauna right before putting the kids to bed. Once they are tucked in a near sleeping we do a quick shower to rinse off the grime from the day and hop in the sauna for our first 15 minute session. We hop out for 5 and usually cold plunge and then hope right back in for another 15. After the first 2 sauna sessions, we down the water and each some homemade pickles while we cool off in the winter weather of Wisconsin. The its back in for our 3rd 15 minute session and then we finish we a cold plunge for as long as we can handle it. Then its off the shower to rinse off and we get in bed and fall fast asleep in minutes.
