High Heat

Hello! How long do y’all typically see it take to get to 180F+?

I’m in Wisconsin and it’s 31F outside. Currently sitting at 115F, but wanting more heat! How many logs do you add at a time?
Hugely appreciate any best practices for getting to the higher temps!

Thermometer placement seems to be relevant. I put it at the peak and temps show much hotter. When it’s at stove height temps seem to stay around one 140 to 160. If I move it to the ceiling, it’s closer to 180. Does anyone know if there is an exact location recommended for the thermometer?

Hey @sabreebs it could also be that your thermometer is faulty. Can you please email us your shipping address and we'll send you a replacement to test? contact@sweattent.com

Hi! I've been seeing my tent take a little bit longer to heat up as the temperature drops as well. I usually get it going and then once the fire is hot I add 2-3 pieces of hardwood with the flue open all the way. Usually takes 20 minutes to get up to 170°-180° and then I pour water on the rocks to get it a bit hotter.
