Prevent snow collapse.

We got 4-5" of snow overnight and my tent roof was collapsed inward this morning from the weight of the snow. I opened the door and popped it right back up, but here is something you might consider if you get snow: I put a flat rock down to spread the load since I have my tent on grass. Then I cut a scrap 2x4 to 77” and put it in the center of the roof spokes. It's held there by tension. This ought to keep the snow from collapsing the roof when we get 10” tomorrow night. Good luck!

Thanks, this is helpful gouge about the 79" length. I'm doing the same thing.

UPDATE: it works better with a 79" support because it adds more tension. We had some 20mph gusts and it was moving the tent enough that the 77" center rod would fall over.

Thanks for sharing @freerangepapa! Implementing a center support rod in snowy climates is always a good idea. We also love how you are protecting your stove by disconnecting the top chimney segments and covering the roof hole when not in use.
