rusty rocks
I've noticed rusting on the rocks in my sauna recently, after about 4 months of use. Is this okay or should I get new rocks? Any maintenance I should be doing to prevent this?

Hi Emma,
Thank you for reaching out and for using our sauna tent! Rusting on sauna rocks can sometimes occur, especially when moisture builds up over time. Here are a few tips to help prevent this and maintain your sauna rocks:
- Wipe Down After Each Use: After your sauna session, allow the rocks to cool completely, and then give them a quick wipe with a dry cloth to remove any lingering moisture.
- Avoid Humid Storage: Store the rocks in a dry place when they’re not in use. Humidity can accelerate rusting, so ensuring they stay dry is key.
- Regular Inspection: Every couple of months, check your rocks for signs of wear, like cracking or excessive rusting. If the rust is minimal, wiping it off is sufficient. However, if the rocks appear severely damaged or corroded, it may be time to replace them.
- Proper Drying: After use, leave the sauna tent open to allow air circulation and ensure both the rocks and the stove dry out completely.
Following these steps should help extend the life of your sauna rocks and keep everything in good condition. Let us know if you have any other questions – we’re happy to help!
