Was interested in @slater's polls on the history of saunas, so did some digging —

apparently in Finnish culture, women often gave birth in saunas due to their cleanliness!!

has anyone heard of that before?!

imho it does sound relaxing. i can't imagine how painful giving birth must be. so anything to make it easier!!

That's fascinating since I would expect a cold and dry environment to be "cleaner". Thanks for sharing!
