Tips & Tricks for Using the SweatTent
I’ve had my tent about a week. Absolutely love it thus far. We have 30+ degree weather, and I’m having a tough time getting the tent to over about 175. It’s set up on grass (I like to ground).
I have to get the stove and chimney glowing orange to get to temperature, and 180 is about the warmest I can get. Any thought?

Glad to hear you are enjoying your SweatTent! A few things that can help boost your temps:
- Insulation under and around the tent – Even a simple reflective pad under the tent can help prevent heat loss to the ground.
- Check your stove draft – Make sure the chimney and stove pipe are properly connected and sealed; any gaps can reduce efficiency.
- Preheat the tent – Sometimes it helps to get the stove going before everyone enters, so the tent air warms up gradually.
- Airflow control – Make sure the tent vents are partially closed once the stove is going strong; too much airflow can keep temps lower.
- Fuel quality – Dry, seasoned wood or high-quality pellets will burn hotter and more consistently.
If you keep experimenting with small adjustments, hitting 180–190°F should be doable even in 30+ degree weather.
