Winter sauna use
Who is using their sauna in the winter in New England how hot are you getting it with the outside air temp below freezing?

We’re in northern Ontario and we’ve been getting it to 200F even when it is -10F. our sweat tent does have quite a bit of snow around the sides now which does help with insulating and stabilizing it.

what are y'all doing to combat wind and the tent blowing over or collapsing?

We are in Michigan and had to shovel snow to set up our new Sweat Tent. If you are not getting into the 200's F, don't sweat it (haha). Just stay longer and enjoy the time. Being seniors, we only shoot for 140-160 F anyway and enjoy 30-40 minutes.

I’m in NY, so a little further south. I‘ve been getting it to about 210 and as high as 220.
During the day is easier if the sun is out even below freezing. I grabbed pine mountain starter logs and cut them in three. I place one in with two or so logs depending on the size. It generally heats up in 20-30 minutes this way.
